A malignant narcissist remains the President of the United States. He only ran for president to keep from being prosecuted for his lifetime of criminal activity which includes treason, illegally holding classified documents, financial malfeasance and corruption, and admitting to routinely sexually assaulting women. There is too, the growing evidence that Trump was deeply enmeshed with Jeffrey Epstein’s pedophile sex trafficking ring. Epstein, a truly awful person, even stated that Trump was the worst person he’d ever met and didn’t have “one decent cell in his body.”

That the vast majority of evangelical Christian voters voted for Trump is a huge indictment against American evangelicalism. Without their votes, Trump never would have had a first term, and certainly not a second. If only those Christians had listened to dissenting theological voices or had simply read their Bibles to compare Trump’s words with those of Jesus, we wouldn’t be in this mess. Alas, they did not, and the people in this fascist kakistocracy are murdering people here and abroad at Trump’s behest.

Our nation is addicted to oil, and to feed that addiction, the Trance Regime has been committing extrajudicial murders in the Caribbean by illegally bombing “drug boats.” Now they have attacked a sovereign nation in order to abduct their president. The abject stupidity of the regime has been on full display as mixed, or even contradictory, messages have been broadcast to the nation and world from various members of Trump’s cabinet. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, whose Faustian bargain appears to be taking a toll on him, seemed to be the last to know that Trump was planning on America running Venezuela. The unhinged fascist Stephen Miller has been proposed as one potential person to take charge. He shouldn’t be in charge of anything other than changing the sheets on his prison bed.

Meanwhile, the transparently false narrative that these attacks was about combating drug trafficking has been exposed by Trump as the horseshit that it always was. Trump has already pardoned multiple people convicted of trafficking enormous amounts of drugs into the United States, including the former President of Honduras Juan Orlando Hernandez. Trump loves to pardon horrible people because he is a horrible person. The situation in Venezuela was never about drugs. It’s about oil and power.

Miller and Trump have both spuriously claimed that the oil under Venezuela’s soil belongs to America and that it was somehow stolen. This line of argument is patently absurd, but is also par for the course for white supremacists like Miller and Trump. The latter has since come out and said that he would be controlling the money from selling Venezuela’s oil. As Heather Cox Richardson recently noted, oil is the technology of past centuries, and other nations realize that. Oil consumption is a key factor in climate change as well, so going after oil is self-defeating on multiple levels.

Trump isn’t the only horrible person responsible for this madness. The entire MAGA movement is full of similar people who are bent on doing terrible things in the name of white Christian nationalism and authoritarian power. Heather Cox Richardson has argued that the Trump regime is trying to disrupt the global order established after the horrors of World War II just as Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping have been attempting within their spheres of military and political influence. Stephen Miller and eyeliner enthusiast J.D. Vance have spoken about power in ways that highlight their fascist leanings. Vance is an acolyte of Peter Thiel, a man whose personal anti-democracy leanings are influenced by the Nazi philosopher Carl Schmitt. Vance, like the Heritage Foundation, believes that the President should essentially have unchecked power without regard to Constitutional checks and balances. Like Trump, Vance is a fascist.

Miller is the architect of much of the worst aspects of the regime’s white supremacist driven actions. His rhetoric sounds eerily reminiscent of Nazi propaganda. In expressing his views on foreign policy he has essentially said that might makes right. Speaking to CNN, Pee Wee German said that, “We live in a world, in the real world, that is governed by strength, that is governed by force, that is governed by power. “These are the iron laws of the world that have existed since the beginning of time.” Forget diplomacy, forget soft power, and definitely forget any of the core teachings of Christianity. Raw, naked, hate-driven power is what Miller believes in and it has led to human rights abuses, violations of international law, and state sponsored murder. The entire regime is addicted to the idea of unchecked power. Jesus wept…

Against this authoritarian backdrop, America is co-hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2026. This is the most popular single sport tournament on the planet. Football’s World Cup is a celebration of “the beautiful game” as enthusiasts often call it. It is also meant to be something that unites people around their love for the sport, the skill of the athletes, the fans chanting, and celebrations of underdogs. That this iteration of FIFA’s marquee event is being held in the U.S. is a poignant reminder that America needs an intervention from both within and without.

From within we need ordinary citizens to engage in massive nonviolent resistance against this lawless regime. The horrific murder of Renee Nicole Good this week in Minnesota has already proven to be a tragic catalyst for further citizen protests. People living in the U.S. need to use every type of resistance we can against the regime and those who enable it. Boycotts, divestment, public protests, community building, and mutual aid networks are all things we can collectively do to weaken the regime. People of faith, particularly Christian pastors, priests, theologians, and lay people must denounce the anti-christian policies and actions of the Trance Regime from pulpits, on social media, and in the streets to show the Christofascists that they do not speak for God in any way at all.

Our politicians at every level need to be diligent about using every procedural, judicial, and legislative tool at their disposal to obstruct, frustrate, and hold the regime accountable for the crimes, corruption, cover ups, and fascist tactics that the regime has thus far engaged in. The impeachment, conviction, and removal, of every member of the Trump administration must be the goal. We must learn from the mistakes made in the past. There is a straight line from the failure to hold treasonous Confederates accountable after the Civil War to today’s MAGA regime. We wouldn’t be here if Andrew Johnson had done his job after Lincoln’s assassination or if Trump had been fully prosecuted for the January 6, 2021 insurrection.

Further intervention is needed from every member of the military. They all must remember that their oath was to the Constitution, not the President or a political party. The same goes for everyone else who serves the country who took that oath. Now it the time for all of you to defend the Constitution by using every tool available to do so. Already, too many members of the military and civil service have followed illegal orders. The push back must begin in earnest now.

From an international perspective, I pray that leaders of other nations do everything they can to stop the madness of the Trance Regime. Economic sanctions, divestment, seizure of assets, arrests, exposure of the criminality, and the release of the full Epstein files should all be on the table. The U.S. is a pariah and should be treated as such. If Trump or his criminal enablers show up in your country, arrest them on the spot. The majority of Americans want this madman and his enablers held accountable. The U.N. and NATO most hold firm and do everything possible to rein in this regime and then bring justice against them.

FIFA’s corrupt president likely won’t do anything regarding the World Cup. I pray that participating nations will however. Pull out of the tournament. Do not show up. Do not put your players and fans at risk. It simply is not worth it and participating will only stroke Mango Mussolini’s ego. The fans should absolutely refuse to come. No tourists should come to the United States for any reason while this regime remains in power. Your safety cannot be guaranteed and there’s nothing in this country that is worth the risk to see.

America needs an intervention to heal from the addictions to white supremacy, oil, colonialism, warfare, and lust for power. The American experiment could very well end before ever coming close to reaching its stated ideals of freedom and democracy. We’re all needed now because the dikes are struggling to hold back the rising tide of fascism coming from Washington, D.C. Take your stand in whatever way you can and do it nonviolently.
