Making Tarot Sense of the Non-sense

Making sense of the daily non-sense being slopped our way without getting sucked into a spiral of anger and depression often requires a bit of soul divination. There are a variety tools we can adopt to help us make sense of the non-sense: tea leaves, bibliomancy, the I-Ching. Tarot is my favorite.

You know Tarot. It’s like bibliomancy. Ask a question, then randomly open the Bible and point. And Hocus Pocus, water into wine, there’s the answer. Of course you could land on Psalm 137:9. OMG. Never mind, Tarot is not like bibliomancy.

The Tarot images are alive and they want to be our ally; a wise friend who has a word that will guide me through the non-sense. Today I drew the Ace of Pentacles, “the root of the material world.” The card told me that it’s time to plant a new seed. Start something that can be helpful for someone else. Okay. That’s better than what the Psalm said I should do.

Today is my first Quollective post. What I hope to be the first of many. Every time I write, I’ll speak about the card I drew that day as it applies to what’s happening around us. Then you can make sense of it however you read the card. And if you want to ask questions, send them my way and I’ll do my best to answer them. If I don’t know the answer, which happens more than I want to admit, I’ll point you in the direction of people I know who probably do.

The Ace of Pentacles, now that was a nice bit of soul divination. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
