Washington, DC — In honor of America’s 250th birthday, the White House has announced plans to convert the East Wing into a fully operational “American Squid Game” arena, where 456 lucky detainees from the controversial migrant detention center known as “Alligator Alcatraz” will compete for the ultimate prize: U.S. citizenship.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described the event as “a thrilling combination of reality TV, patriotic ritual, and Christ-centered immigration reform.”
“This is Ellis Island for the 21st century,” she beamed. “Except instead of a smile and a name change, you earn your citizenship by surviving six uniquely American trials of liberty and strength.”
The games, televised exclusively on Fox Nation and sponsored by Chick-fil-A and Black Rifle Coffee, include such patriotic pastimes as:
Tom Homan, acting ICE director, praised the initiative:
“What could be more American than forcing immigrants to fight for their dreams? This is what merit-based immigration should look like, except televised.”
Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez condemned the plan as “cruel, dystopian, and objectively illegal,” to which Leavitt, now wearing an even larger gold cross around her neck, responded, “That’s what the weak say when they can’t finish Hot Dog Roulette.”
When asked about the high likelihood of death, a White House official shrugged:
“Hey, the Founding Fathers took risks too. That’s freedom, baby.”
Applications to compete are not open to the public, but rumor has it Season 2 will be hosted by Jesse Watters, assuming he doesn’t have to do anything that involves drinking from a straw.
Happy birthday, America.
