Love Offering Island

BY Stuart Delony
A parody reality-show banner styled like a Love Island USA poster. A grinning televangelist-style man in a white blazer and blue shirt stands centered against a tropical beach background with palm trees, pink flowers, and a heart-shaped cloud. Large pink text at the top reads “love island USA,” with the word “offering” scribbled in hot pink underneath as if added by hand.
DALL-E
A four-panel satirical webcomic titled Love Offering Island parodying reality dating shows, featuring caricatures of three prosperity-gospel televangelists in white blazers around a villa fire pit. In the first panel, a gaunt silver-haired man is eliminated as a phone displays a broken gold heart. In the second, he points and shouts in anger. In the third, a grinning tanned man consoles him. In the fourth, a blonde woman on a purple couch raises one finger with a smug expression.

Love Island USA wrapped its season. Congratulations #Brinity!

Now the culture briefly has to survive without a cast of beautiful people betraying each other near an open flame. Christian television saw the vacancy and answered the call, because Christian television has never once let romantic desperation go unmonetized.

Enter Love Offering Island. The blazers are white, the villa is a registered 501(c)(3), and the prayer line and the voting line are the same phone number, so every ballot doubles as a seed. Here love is patient, love is kind, and love requires a recurring monthly gift of $19.99 to keep the anointing active.

Kenneth took his elimination with dignity, by which the show means he filed a prophetic appeal and a fraud complaint before the fire pit cooled. Joel consoled him the only way he knows how, which is to reframe a slammed door as a soft launch. Paula watched from the couch, one ring-laden finger raised, serene as a woman whose call center never sleeps.

It’s the only elimination ceremony that ends with a love offering and a demonic voter-suppression claim. Finally, a reality show brave enough to ask: what if the real bombshell was the donor base we grifted along the way.

Text LOVE OFFERING to give now. Standard anointing rates apply.

If this felt a little too accurate, there’s more where that came from.

I’m Stuart Delony, a former pastor who walked out of the church but couldn’t shake the ways of Jesus. These days, I host Snarky Faith—a podcast and platform that wrestles with faith, culture, and meaning from the fringe. I’m not here to fix Christianity. I’m here to name what’s broken, find what’s still worth keeping, and hold space for the questions that don’t have clean answers. If you’ve been burned, disillusioned, or just done with the noise—welcome. You’re in good company.
